Your First Session 

What to expect as we begin our counseling journey together

The best way to get started is to reach out through the contact form, email, or phone. I'll be happy to answer your questions, discuss your needs, and help you schedule an initial appointment. Taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate the process alone.

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where clients feel safe sharing their experiences. We'll discuss what brings you to counseling, review your goals, talk about what to expect from the counseling process, and answer any questions you may have. This is also your opportunity to determine whether I feel like a good fit for your needs.  

I understand that reaching out for counseling can feel intimidating, and I want you to know that you don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. I will meet you where you are and provide a nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, seen, and supported. Building trust is important to me, and I believe meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a safe environment where you feel comfortable being yourself as we work together toward your goals.
