Frequently Asked Questions
Helping you feel informed and supported as
you begin your counseling journey...
I became a counselor because I am passionate about helping people feel seen, heard, and supported through life's challenges. I believe everyone deserves a safe, compassionate space where they can openly share their experiences without judgment. My goal is to help clients feel understood, empowered, and confident as they develop the tools needed to navigate challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.
My counseling approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and tailored to each client's unique needs, strengths, and goals. I believe that healing and growth happen within a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. My role is to meet clients where they are, honor their experiences, and empower them to create meaningful change at their own pace.
I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that may contribute to emotional distress or unwanted behaviors. By developing healthier ways of thinking, clients can improve emotional regulation, build resilience, and make positive changes in their daily lives.
Solution-Focused Therapy emphasizes strengths, possibilities, and practical solutions. Together, we identify what is working, clarify goals, and create actionable steps that help clients move forward with greater confidence and purpose.
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative approach that helps clients explore their own reasons for change and strengthen their motivation for growth. Rather than focusing on what they "should" do, clients are supported in identifying their values, building self-confidence, and taking meaningful steps toward their goals.
By integrating these approaches within a person-centered and trauma-informed framework, I help clients increase self-awareness, develop effective coping strategies, build on their strengths, and create lasting, meaningful change.
I primarily work with adolescents, young adults, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and neurodivergent experiences. I work best with clients who are open to self-exploration and motivated to make positive changes, while recognizing that growth happens at different paces for everyone. My role is to meet clients where they are and support them throughout their journey.
You don't have to wait until things feel overwhelming to seek support. Counseling is not only for times of crisis—it's also a space for self-discovery, personal growth, and building the skills needed to navigate life's challenges. Everyone is capable of growth and change, and asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and children. As a family, we love playing sports and games, traveling, trying new restaurants, and going to the movies. I also value making time for myself through long walks, experimenting with new baking recipes, and getting lost in a good book.
